In keeping with traditions almost everywhere, we at Directory of Singapore, would like to usher in the New Year 2009 with fireworks!

2008 has been rather rough and unforgettable but let’s hope and pray for love, joy and peace and a a better 2009.

With that said, we must also be psychologically prepared for a difficult 2009.

Our Government will do its best to help workers keep their jobs and retrain those who have been retrenched and also by helping businesses.

Singapore is a small and open economy therefore our exports, our tourism sector and our broader economy get hit when there is a fall in world wide demand.

However, looking on the bright side, it would be precisely this fact coupled with a strong government which will give us the resilience to pull through this tough period.
